Jeffrey Hatcher’s new play Ten Chimneys will now open on October 3, rather than the previously announced date of September 30. The bio comedy about legendary Broadway stage couple Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne stars real life spouses Byron Jennings and Carolyn McCormick. Directed by Dan Wackerman, Ten Chimneys currently plays at off-Broadway’s Theatre at St. Clements.
Presented by the Peccadillo Theater Company, Ten Chimneys takes a close look at the backstage lives of legendary Broadway actors Alfred Lunt (Jennings) and Lynn Fontanne (McCormick). Set at the couple’s Wisconsin estate in 1938, love triangles and family dysfunction reveal themselves when rehearsals for an upcoming production of Chekhov’s The Seagull becomes a true-to-life plot involving a young actress named Uta Hagen.
In addition to Jennings and McCormick, the cast features Lucy Martin as Lunt's mother, Hattie, and Michael McCarty as Sydney Greenstreet, as well as Charlotte Booker, Julia Bray and John Wernke.
